LAHP’s roundtable series on the future of doctoral education in the Arts and Humanities, hosted by the Live Art Development Agency (LADA), will begin on Friday 9 October 2026.

Our first roundtable focuses on ‘practice’ PhDs in the Arts and Humanities. Contributors include social/performance practitioner Dr Barby Asante (Goldsmiths), absurdist Professor Chantal Faust (Dean, Arts & Humanities, RCA), Turner Prize-winning digital moving image artist Professor Elizabeth Price (Kingston), and Professor of Design and Intercultural Communication, Rathna Ramanathan (Dean, Central Saint Martins, UAL). As practitioners, educators, and academic managers/leaders, the contributors will share their experiences of practice-led research, and their thoughts on the past, present, and future of doctoral education in the Arts and Humanities.

Chair: Dr Marquard Smith, UCL/Academic Director, LAHP
