Impact & Engagement 101

There’s been growing emphasis in recent decades on the positive difference that universities can make to the world around them. There are multiple frames for the ways that universities engage externally – research impact, knowledge exchange, public engagement, civic engagement, community engagement to name a few. This workshop will present differentiations between these concepts before focusing largely on research impact, and how it may be understood through the Research Excellence Framework (REF).
