LAHP Annual Research Day – 22nd May 2017
Rhetoric and Rights
This year’s LAHP Annual Research Day will be held on Monday 22 May 12:30 – 17:00 in the Level 5 Function Room, Southbank Centre, London SE1 8XX. The event will be followed by a drinks reception in the bar on the ground floor.
It’s an important part of LAHP training and development to get together once a year to meet each other and talk about how research in the arts and humanities is central to national life. We also take the opportunity to reflect on our research in the context of contemporary national and international events, and we expect as many students as possible to be there. We have a wonderful space in the Southbank centre which holds up to 150 people — places will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.
This year we are exploring the theme ‘Rhetoric and Rights’. The use and abuse of rhetoric is hardly a new theme, but it has added clout in the current social and political climate.
