LAHP CDA Welcome Event

The LAHP CDA Welcome Session takes place on Wednesday 24th September 2025. The session will be held in a hybrid format, and we’re looking forward to welcoming both new and returning students and supervisors.

About the Session:

Led by Dr Marquard Smith, LAHP Director, this session is designed to:

  • Outline expectations and responsibilities within CDA partnerships
  • Share AHRC recommendations for best practice
  • Provide tailored guidance for CDA students and supervisors
  • Offer opportunities to ask questions and connect with other CDA project teams across LAHP cohorts

Venue and access details for UCL Institute of Education (IOE):

  • Please enter via the entrance at 20 Bedford Way (link to map above)
  • Please note, the building has turnstiles – UCL students and supervisors will be able to enter using their UCL ID
  • For all non-UCL students and supervisors, please go to the reception desk and let them know you are here for the ‘LAHP CDA Welcome Session’ – they will open the turnstiles for you
  • Room 731 is on the 7th floor, accessible by lift – you can either use Core A lifts on your left as you pass reception, or along a corridor on your right to the Core B lifts (reception can direct you to these).

Accessible entrance:

  • The IOE has an accessible entrance. Approaching 20 Bedford Way at street level, there is step-free access to the main reception area and café. Enter through the motion-sensor controlled entrance doors and through the turnstiles. This is Level 3.
  • There is a platform lift by reception, which will take you down to the lower Level 3 to provide access to Core A lifts on your left, or along a corridor on your right to the Core B lifts.
  • There is a second platform lift at the far end of the café, linking the Level 3 café to Level 4 Reception.
