Overcoming Barriers: The Impact of Arts Council Policy on the Careers of Black British Woman in the Dance Sectre

This CDA will take a case study approach to dive into the impact Arts Council England policies had on the careers of Black British women in dance from 1985- 2021. The project will argue that the struggle for visibility in British dance is systemic and institutional, and hopes to put forward recommendations of how this can be addressed for Black women who seek a career in dance in the future.
