The Reception of Aristophanes in Victorian Britain

I am exploring the reception of Aristophanes in the long-nineteenth century — not only how his plays were performed, but how they were discussed by academics and laypeople, to what extent they were taught in schools, how they influenced the literature of the period more generally, and whether Aristophanes was considered an establishment figure or was read more radically.
