An active role of imagination in decision-making under uncertainty

I am interested in elucidating the role of imagination as a mental faculty ‘at work’ when we make decisions under ‘uncertainty’, that is, when we have to comport ourselves to novel circumstances that we can know very little about from our past experience. The project will draw on decision theory, the philosophy of imagination, and unawareness research.
