Call for submissions: Liquid, Solid and Gaseous conference at King’s College London
24 and 25 June 2026
King’s College London
This conference is rooted in the growing attention that water is receiving within the Humanities, and particularly from a Memory Studies perspective. Through this project, we aim to highlight an often neglected aspect of water: its ability to change its physical states. During the event, we will explore how, and whether, changes in the physical structure of water affect the ways in which we remember with and through it.
Liquid, Solid and Gaseous aims to bring together researchers, artists and practitioners to reflect on this topic through a range of media, spanning academic papers, creative works and interactive workshops.
The conference will take place in a hybrid format on 24–25 June 2026 at King’s College London (Strand Campus). The deadline for submitting abstracts and proposals is 15th April 2026.
