Framing creative practice as research for the Research Excellence Framework (REF) and beyond

The Research Excellence Framework (REF) is here to stay. The tricks and tips for conventional outputs (e.g. papers, book chapters and monographs) are well-publicised, but the 300 word explanation that frames the research process and insights of creative objects (e.g. objects, creative writing, performances, design, digital or visual media, exhibitions, devices or products etc) can be a trickier proposition. The regulations for the next REF will not be known for some time but the elegant and concise presentation of artistic and creative practice as research is a useful and powerful skill and the focus of this workshop.
