The LAHP Welcome and Induction Event took place on Monday 14th October at the Museum of London. The first part of the event was a series of talks to introduce LAHP and the training, cohort development, placement and funding opportunities that the partnership provides. This was followed by a series of activities for students organized by the Museum of London, including a visit to the new museum site, and the afternoon will end with a drinks reception.

The Museum of London is one of LAHP’s cultural partners and we were delighted that they have agreed to host our Welcome Event. The new LAHP expanded partnership now includes eight HEI partners (King’s College London, London School of Economics & Political Science, Queen Mary University of London, Royal College of Art, Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, Royal College of Music, School of Advanced Study, and University College London) and six key non-HEI partners (Google, Metropolitan Police, Museum of London, National Archives, Victoria & Albert Museum, Wellcome Trust).

As a LAHP student, you belong to this wide network of arts and humanities research and collaboration that includes, but extends far beyond, your home institution. The LAHP team look forward to working with you to support your research, training, and other activities during the course of your studentship. The event provided crucial information about LAHP and the opportunity not only to meet other LAHP students and the LAHP team, but also to find out more about the work of the Museum of London, including a visit to the site of the new museum in Smithfield Market.
