Divert Failure : Cixous, Genet, Roubaud

Drawing on the two meanings of the French word “divertir”, both divert and entertain, this project will study how the experience(s) of failure, generally seen as one that silences and stops, can be in contrary considered as a new way to approach the self, to question and subvert traditional structures (such as the link between fiction, auto-fiction and autobiography), and by then to perform some of the most radical literary experiments of contemporary French literature.
